Kevin is the Founder and President of Commercial Transportation Safety Associates (CTSA).
He served 21 years with the United States Department of Transportation as a Special Agent with the Department’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the Federal agency responsible for enforcing the commercial vehicle safety and commercial driver’s license (CDL) Regulations.
As a safety Investigator, Kevin conducted safety compliance reviews and audits in 8 states and maintained roadside inspector certification. He later served as the Hazardous Materials Program Manager and lead HAZMAT Investigator for the agency’s North and South Carolina Divisions.
He spent the last 11 years of his career as the State Programs Manager in the FMCSA’s South Carolina Division, where among other duties, He provided Federal oversight over the State’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Commercial Driver’s License, and New Entrant Programs.
During his time with the FMCSA, Kevin received two Administrator’s Superior Achievement Awards for work accomplished and was recognized by Secretary of Transportation Ray Lahood for the assistance he provided to small businesses.
In 2016, Kevin started Commercial Transportation Safety Associates (CTSA), a company which helps private trucking and bus companies and State agencies comply with the federal commercial transportation regulations.
Jimmy has served 30 years in State government where he has managed a statewide Commercial Driver's License Training and Testing program and served as a Statewide Fleet Safety Manager.
Jimmy, a Class A CDL holder and National CDL Examiner's Trainer, has served many years on the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrator's (AAMVA's) 5 member CDL Test Maintenance Committee. This is the organization that sets the standards for CDL testing in the United States, which are codified by the USDOT.
Jimmy spent many years assisting the State Agencies that he has worked for and his staff members within those agencies with compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
He has traveled all over the country using his knowledge and experience in support of AAMVA' s CDL Examiner's training initiatives, including playing a pivotal role in the development of nationally-adopted audio-visual based training material.
Jimmy is passionately involved in the White House's initiative to train desiring military personnel for commercial driver opportunities after leaving the service.
