We will assist your company in complying with all Federal and State registration requirements, set up your USDOT-compliant safety programs, i.e. Driver Qualification, Drug Testing, Vehicle Maintenance, etc, and prepare you to pass your mandatory USDOT New Entrant Safety Audit.
Once a trucking company receives a U.S. DOT Number, they are mandated to have a New Entrant Safety Audit within 18 months, conducted by a Federal New Entrant safety auditor or a State safety auditor whose agency works in partnership with the U.S. DOT.
The Safety Auditor will review your knowledge of and level of compliance with the Federal safety regulations. They will review your company's compliance with regulations pertaining to Driver Qualifications, Hours-of-Service, ELDs, Drug and Alcohol Testing, Vehicle Maintenance, Insurance, Safe Driving, Hazardous Materials, Accident Prevention, etc.
You must pass the Safety Audit to continue operating. 100% of the companies that we have assisted have passed their New Entrant Safety Audit.
A Compliance Review or Compliance Investigation, as it is now called, is a more in depth look at a company's level of compliance. While an onsite New Entrant Safety Audit usually takes a few hours to a complete day, a Compliance Review averages 3 days to a week.
Unlike with a Safety Audit, at the completion of a Compliance Review, the company is subject to monetary penalties for serious non-compliance issues, and is usually assigned a publicly visible safety "rating".
Your company's CSA Safety Scores determine when the DOT comes in to conduct a Compliance Review on your company. Your shippers and brokers use them to decide if they want to work with you or continue to work with you, and your insurance company uses them to determine your rates or if they will insure you at all.
We will analyze the causes of your elevated CSA scores and will develop and employ strategies to bring them down as quickly and as low as possible.
We will provide training to your drivers and/or staff on how to comply with the Federal Safety Regulations.
Our Associates have over 50 combined years of regulatory enforcement and roadside inspection experience. One of our training sessions explains how roadside inspection violations affect the company's CSA safety scores and includes a mock inspection of one of your company's vehicles.
It's always easier to be proactive in complying with the DOT regulations, than to achieve the impossible task of trying to quickly correct years of non-compliance after getting the call that the DOT is coming in or that a major broker or your insurance company wants to drop you.
For companies that don't have the time nor staff to stay current on the DOT requirements, or don't want the frustration of trying to decipher the regulations, we will use our knowledge and experience to keep you in compliance and keep your CSA scores as low as possible.
For companies that have endured a compliance review and are dealing with the repercussions, we have the expertise and the positive track record to write Corrective Action and Safety Management Plans and to submit requests for Safety Rating Upgrades, reduced fines, and payment plans.
